Pipeline Trail Predesign Study

Pierce County is moving ahead with development of its 5.5-mile segment of a commuter and recreational trail through the heart of the Summit Waller residential neighborhood extending through Orangegate Park and into the commercial area near South Hill. The trail makes connection to the Tacoma Pipeline trail to the north and ultimately the Foothills Trail to the south, providing continuous access to urban, residential, commercial, and rural communities across the County. We have embarked on this predesign phase which will initiate the public outreach process, establish the trail alignment, define crossing treatments, outline trail and trailhead design standards, and position the County for funding opportunities.
