Ober Park

This 5-acre park in the center of Vashon Island is an important hub for the community, with a vibrant activity center, amphitheater, and King County library. It is tucked in among businesses, senior housing, a park and ride lot, and is the site for many community events including the summer concert in the park. Vashon Park District asked MacLeod Reckord to help with the design of a “Playground for All”, enveloping preschool, senior, and ADA demographics. MacLeod Reckord assisted the District with their successful award of grant funding from King County with a Youth Sports grant, and construction is expected in late 2020/early 2021.
